Winter Tournament 2005

Horley Lawn Tennis Club hold the Finals of their winter handicap competition at the end of March. Open to all club members, the competition aims to give all club players the chance to play in and win a club final by handicapping the better players.

Winners this year were Paul Farrugia and John Payne beating Dave Tripp and Dave Scott-Jones for the men’s’ doubles title, Debby Edwards and Jenny Martin beating Angie Horne and Gail Palmer for the ladies’ doubles title and Dave Cox and Sarah Dale beating Andy Norrell and Gill Cox in a hard-fought mixed doubles clash.

The men’s and ladies’ singles winners were Paul Farrugia who beat Simon Holloway and Jo Rosendale who beat Debby Edwards.
